Scoop is an animation made for a group project by Tiffany Lee, Laura Yiu, Wing Li, Wendy Yeung and Ling Ngai.
‘Scoop’ means scary and loop. It is an abstract animation which talks about the story of a cat and its owner with a scary red brick. The characters keep changing their emotion from awe to interest, then disgust to rage and back to the neutral state. Then the story keeps repeating, similar to loops.
To create the animation, my main role of the project is to write the modified version of the story after picking out the emotions and representative sentences in the discussion, write dramatic arc of emotion, art director in colours and illustrate frames from 111-150.
The Storyline:
The cat owner is trying to put a milk bottle costume on the cat, but the cat does not like it. The cat tries to disgust the owner by eating the owner’s favourite scary movie. The cat changes into a scary and disgusting cat in the process. The owner is very angry. He tries to catch and hit the cat.
